Ancha es Castilla / N'importe quoi

Film

After making “La Distancia”, a film that has taken 4 years from its first ideas until finishing, I fancied making a cool project, something quick, with minimal equipment and with a punk attitude in the film-direction .

The whole project was developed in three months and with a total of 9 days of filming. We started from the idea of creating a series of characters made from food that were the stars of a classic theme within Horror Movies: “The Exorcism”. I wanted the actors closer to Goya’s black paintings than typical animated cartoons. Once we had the main family roles, we made a human-sized version of them to play with throughout the shooting between sets and reality .

As with my other films, I had no prior script and we started with situations or spaces to improvise scenes. It was in the editing room where the history was created, the dialogues were recorded with an iPhone, the music chosen as the scenes was created ...

I really wanted everything to be very dirty, raw and without any formal problems whatsoever. A movie in which the beauty of errors and the sickly humour were their main assets .
